Choir rehearsals were back in full swing in September after the summer break. This time of year can be a bit depressing as the nights draw in and the temperature drops (more so this September than usual!).
But we have been in fine spirits during our Thursday night rehearsals, particularly as the new song we have started learning is an in-house arrangement of the upbeat eighties classic ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’. It’s already sounding fabulous.
It’s not too late if anyone wants to join in the fun: our doors are always open for new members. Believe it or not, it won’t be long before we start polishing up the festive repertoire for Christmas gigs. If you join in October, you could be performing with us for our gigs in December!
We are a non-audition ladies choir rehearsing between 7.30 and 9.30 on Thursday evenings in St Andrew’s Church Hall Ipplepen. Some of our ladies sing very low (our basses), whilst those who sing in the higher registers make up our top soprano section. Most of us are somewhere in between! If you have no idea what your vocal range is, or have never sung before but would like to give it a go, just come along and we will figure out which section is for you.
If you would prefer to chat with someone before coming, you can send us a message via our Facebook page or call 07754 949301. Otherwise just come along to the hall around 7.15 on Thursday evening and we will sort you out!
Unity in Sound Community Choir is a women’s choir based in Ipplepen. Members are a mix of ages, life stages and backgrounds.
Our aim is to grow our numbers. We’re a non-audition choir singing a range of different parts so there’s sure to be something to suit every voice. So whether you’re a total novice, rusty or an experienced singer, why not come and try Unity in Sound Community Choir – we’d be delighted to see you. MORE…
