Unity in Sound Community Choir is a women’s choir based in Ipplepen. Members are a mix of ages, life stages and backgrounds.
The choir’s 10th year celebrations got off to a great start in April, with a return visit to Newton Abbot’s Austin’s department store, the location of our first ever gig as Unity in Sound, way back in 2016. As you can see, there are a few more of us now than there were then!

Next up in May we are back at Denbury May Fayre, on Monday 5th. In June we are performing at a very special private function, and in July we are hoping for better weather this year for us to sing at IppleTipple, after rain stopped play last year.
We are still open to new members joining us, so get in touch if you would like to experience the social and mental health benefits of singing with a supportive group of women, with no experience or auditions required.
If you are interested, come along to St Andrew’s Church Hall on a Thursday evening around 7.15. Some of our ladies sing very low (our basses), whilst those who sing in the higher registers make up our top soprano section. Most of us are somewhere in between! If you have no idea what your vocal range is, or have never sung before but would like to give it a go, just come along and we will figure out which section is for you.
If you would prefer to chat with someone before coming, you can send us a message via our Facebook page or call 07754 949301.
We would also love to hear from you if you are a local business run by or for women, and would be interested in sponsoring our wonderful women’s choir. Please get in touch with our Chair, Megan Sewel, on 07904348028.
Our aim is to grow our numbers. We’re a non-audition choir singing a range of different parts so there’s sure to be something to suit every voice. So whether you’re a total novice, rusty or an experienced singer, why not come and try Unity in Sound Community Choir – we’d be delighted to see you. MORE…
